Coming from Johannesburg along N3:
- On approaching Pietermaritzburg, take the Peter Brown Drive turn-off
- At the T-junction, turn right and follow road to the traffic circle opposite Athlone Primary School
- Proceed through traffic circle (180 degrees) and continue along Old Howick Road.
- Watch out for Redlands Estate on left, and turn left into George McFarlane Road
- Turn into estate, proceed around circle (270 degrees) and drive to Safire House on left.

Coming from Durban along N3:
- On approaching Pietermaritzburg, take the Chatterton Road turn-off (M40)
- Keep left, follow road to traffic circle, and move into right hand lane
- Proceed through circle (180 degrees), past ABSA Bank on the left
- Turn into second road left (Gough Road) and proceed to T-junction
- At T-junction, turn right into Old Howick Road
- Proceed up Old Howick Road and turn right into George McFarlane Road
- Turn into estate, proceed around circle (270 degrees) and drive to Safire House on left.
